BIS Program
Murray State University
303 Sparks Hall
Murray, KY 42071
  • Former Murray State students, please submit this release form and an adviser will be happy to access your MSU transcripts and put together a tentative BIS degree plan for you. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the release form.  If you do not have Acrobat Reader, click here to download the program.

  • Have the following sent to the BIS Program at the above address:  1.  Your completed application for admission, 2. Official transcripts from all colleges attended, 3. Official ACT test score reports, and 4. Official high school transcript or GED test score.  NOTE: If you already have more than 24 semester hours of college credit, you need not submit high school transcripts or ACT test scores.  You can be admitted to the BIS program only if you have 60 or more semester hours of college credit. (Students with fewer than 60 hours may be admitted as a pre-BIS student.  In this case, contact the BIS adviser for additional information.)

  • Gain admission to MSU from the Admissions and Registrar's Office.  You will receive a letter of acceptance in the mail.  At that time you may also register for classes.

  • When you are admitted to MSU, contact Marla Poyner to get signed into BIS 399.  Completion of registration for this course and payment of tuition and fees enroll you in the BIS program.

*Formerly the Bachelor of Independent Studies program. Beginning December 2007, students who graduate from the BIS program will earn a Bachelor of Integrated Studies degree.
