CURRICULUM:

The BIS curriculum falls into three sections: general education requirements, field of study, and electives.

Orientation: BIS 399- Independent Studies Seminar (3)
General Education: ENG 101- Composition (3)
ENG 102- Composition and Research (3)
Communication and Basic Skills University Studies course (3)
6 semester hours of approved University Studies humanities electives.
7-8 semester hours of approved University Studies science and mathematics electives.
9 semester hours of approved University Studies social science electives.
9-12 additional semester hours of University Studies electives.
Field of Study: Subject courses (18 hours)
Research methods (6 hours)
Field of study project (6 hours)
Electives: 47-52 semester hours, enough to equal 120 total hours

*Formerly the Bachelor of Independent Studies program. Beginning December 2007, students who graduate from the BIS program will earn a Bachelor of Integrated Studies degree.
