PURPOSE:

An alternative degree program for adults who already have college credits, the BIS works best for students established in careers who do not need an academic credential for a new career. It also works well for students who desire a liberal arts education and for some who plan to enter graduate programs.

This program features flexible requirements, acceptance of correspondence, and other distance learning courses. BIS students are encouraged to seek college credit for prior learning.

*Formerly the Bachelor of Independent Studies program. Beginning December 2007, students who graduate from the BIS program will earn a Bachelor of Integrated Studies degree.
