Murray State University and the Council on Post-Secondary Education recognize that an ACT score below 18 may not always reflect a student’s ability. Therefore, free assessment testing is available to provide an alternate test score for possible placement out of developmental courses, with the exception of restricted-status requirements. Tests in English, math, and reading are offered during Freshman Orientation sessions and on a limited basis by appointment in Lowry Center during fall and spring semesters.
