Instructions

To log in to Blackboard:

  1. Click on the Login button.
  2. Type in your Username.
    (the first initial of your first name, your last name, and the last four digits of your SS# with no spaces. For example: jdoe6789)
  3. Type in your Password.
    (The first time you log in, your password will be the last 4 digits of your SS#. For example: 6789. We recommend that you change your password as soon as you log in. )
  4. Click on the Login button.

If you are certain you have correctly entered your username and password but are denied entry to the system, send an email to e.study@murraystate.edu to let us know of the problem, or telephone 270-762-2535 between 8:00AM and 4:30PM (CST or CDST). Please include your username, last 4 digits of your SSN, telephone number where you may be reached, the course number and the error message you are receiving. You will be contacted as quickly as possible with a resolution for your problem. You should also inform your instructor of the problem you have encountered.

Notes Please do not expect to have full access to your course until the first day of class.   CLASS DOES NOT BEGIN UNTIL MONDAY, JANUARY 12. PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT TO HAVE FULL ACCESS UNTIL THEN! Only students who are fully enrolled (with financial and academic good standing) will have access.   If you are not fully enrolled, you will need to make arrangements to have the financial or academic hold on your record released:
  1. You can pay for your class with a credit card by accessing RACER-TOUCH at 270-762-3500 or by making payment arrangements with the Bursar's office at 270-762-4226.  You can also pay online with Murray State's new online payment system, RACERPAY.  Click here to go to RACERPAY.
  2. For inquiries about academic holds, please contact Mandy Youngblood in Admissions at 270-762-3758.

Students can check the status of your record by accessing the PIN system.  Any holds on your record will be indicated there.

You will receive access to Blackboard 1-2 business days after record holds are released.    

The PIN system will also allow students to:

  • View class schedules
  • View grade reports
  • View account balance
  • View 1098T tax information
  • View student loan notices
  • View contact information
  • View personal information
  • Request enrollment verification
  • View holds information
Other Instruction Once you are logged in at Blackboard, please begin by going to "Course Information" to view the syllabus and student information sheet.  Also go to "Course Documents" to view the semester assignment schedule.

Make sure your current email address is correct in your personal information after logging into the Blackboard web site.
  1. Click on the Personal Information link found under Tools.
  2. Click on Edit Personal Information.
  3. Verify that your E-mail address is correct, or change it to the email address you normally use.
  4. Click on the Submit button at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Click OK to confirm that the information is correct.
Other Requirements Microsoft Word; ALL work must be submitted to the instructor's Digital Dropbox as a Word document.
