Special Instructions:

-  Take the time to visit the CTLT website through RacerNet and "tune up your computer."  Make sure that you have all the latest versions of the necessary programs loaded onto your computer.  For example:  Adobe Acrobat Reader, the MS Office Suite, Java, etc.  If you have any problems or questions their phone number is 809-2535 and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.

-  If you have never taken a course via the BB system, take some time and "play" with everything so that you can navigate the site once the class begins.

-  If at all possible, arrange for a DSL hookup from your home so that you can work at a faster rate.  Downloading and uploading of materials takes a long time via a phone hookup.

-  Purchase your textbooks NOW.  If you don't want to order them from the MSU bookstore, they are available through other sources such as Amazon.com.

-  Arrange to read at least one (1) daily newspaper and one (1) news magazine.  Public Relations practitioners must be current with the events of the day.  Especially those events that will affect their client(s).  You will have assignments connected to current events.
